Mariana Herrera

Ph.D. in Marine Science, Technology and Management by University of Vigo (2019), MSc in Sustainable Management of Marine and Coastal Systems by University of Cádiz (2012), and BSc in Biology by Complutense University of Madrid (2009). Participated in national and European projects related to sustainable fisheries, small-scale fisheries, shellfishing, and marine litter. Interested in climate change, assessment and management of fisheries and ecosystems, biodiversity, marine spatial planning, and coastal ecosystem services. Experience in lab techniques, oceanography, and biological sample processing.

Research lines

I am specialized in benthic ecology and the effects of climate change on population dynamics and distributional patterns of marine biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.
